Has Schwarzenegger’s Speech Improved Since His Accident?

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Many are aware that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has 15 stitches in his upper lip after a motorcycle accident, but some wonder: Could the state of his lip help him pronounce the word “California” correctly?

Los Angeles voice expert Dr. Mort Cooper doesn’t think so. In his estimation, “It hasn’t done a damn thing for him.”

However, Cooper points out, “His pitch has dropped. It just reflects his emotional concern. It’s not his lip that’s affected, it’s his mind that’s affected.”

Cooper thinks the Governator’s pitch should be back to normal within a week because, he explains, “People have a voice image. Only when they’re emotionally disturbed do they change it.”

He jokes, “He’s given us the lip before, but this time the lip is not the issue. He’s emotionally affected.”
