‘Leap Second’ Can Add Hours Of Productivity

NEWARK, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An surplus second will be tacked on to the end of 2005 to take into account the slowing of the earth’s rotation, and one time management expert has some thoughts on what you can do with that one second.

Robert Bly, author of the book 101 Ways to Make Every Second Count (Career Press), says there’s almost nothing you can do in that one second except resetting your alarm clock to wake yourself up an hour earlier from now on every day.

Bly says, “You’ll have the most productive year of your life,” because it gives you an hour each day to get more done.

He recommends spending that extra hour at work because it’s the most quiet time of the day when no one else is around to disturb you.

But he doesn’t recommend skipping out of work an hour early, although if you do, Bly says you’d still be more productive because you can get more done in that first hour than the last hour of the day.
