Not long at all, according to Beverly Pekala, a Chicago-based divorce lawyer known for giving odds on when Hollywood marriages will go kaput.
She doesnt think John and Furnish are likely to last, even though there are no statistics on gay civil unions and divorces.
Still, she says if the newlyweds were a male and female couple, The chances arent in [Johns] favor for staying with [Furnish] forever and ever.
Part of the reason, Pekala says, is because John was once married and divorced from a woman, which makes the odds of him splitting up again go off the chart.
Meanwhile, another contributing factor is that when a couple lives together before they marry as John and Furnish did their chances of splitting up spike.
Pekala says, although she isnt familiar with English law, she wonders if the law makers have accounted for disillusions, or whether the Rocket Man and husband will be legally stuck with each other should they try to divorce.
