Sneaker Activist Petitions Nike To Make ‘Back To The Future II’ Sneakers

MONTREAL (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Thought the movie Back To The Future II was all in the past? Well, one sneaker lover wants to make sure Marty McFly’s self-lacing Nikes are part of the present.

Montreal resident Al Cabino has started an online petition addressed to Nike demanding that they make the Back To The Future II sneaker available to the public.

The sneaker activist – who prefers to be called “an internationally famous sneakerographer” – says he’s more interested in the style of the sneaker than its self-lacing capabilities, but muses, “You know Nike. It’s a multi-billion dollar company. Can they do it? Maybe.”

He’s gotten Nicole Richie’s fiance DJ AM to sign the petition and says he’d love to get Michael J. Fox on board.

Cabino insists he won’t go to Nike until he has “a respectable number of signatures,” adding, “You’re not gonna go knock-knock at Nike and say, ‘I have a hundred signatures.’”

The petition can be found at and Cabino jokes, “I know it sounds like a Nike ad, but I say ‘Just Sign It.’”
