Mandalay Bays Fleur de Lys restaurant has just begun offering a burger combo meal worth a whopping $5,000.
The FluerBurger 5000 as its called contains a hamburger made from Kobe beef, layered with fois gras and black truffle on a brioche truffle bun valued at $75 by itself and a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus poured in Ichendorf Brunello stemware, exclusively imported from Italy.
The FluerBurger even comes with a certificate and its own serial number.
Restaurant manager Philippe Tosques says the Merlot-based Petrus was chosen to compliment the truffle and fois gras. He adds that a Cabernet Sauvignon would be unsuitable because it would overpower the flavors of the burger.
So far, Tosques says no high rollers have ordered the beaucoup burger, but when they do, he says, The energy level [in the kitchen] will definitely go up.
