‘Dawn Of The Dead’ Figurines Help Woman Quit Smoking

OXFORD, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Quitting smoking is hard, but an English woman says two of her loves – the film Dawn of the Dead and knitting – helped her kick the habit.

Hannah Simpson took up knitting because she says she needed “something to do” when she gave up smoking, and recently kept herself busy by knitting a set of characters from the zombie flick Dawn of the Dead and photographing them in attack scenes.

The whole process took her two months, but it was worth it because, she admits, “It’s my favorite film of all time. I must have seen it 50 times.”

Though scenes of knitted zombies spouting red blood out of their heads while they attack innocent yarn people sounds like a big production, Simpson insists the photos were taken on her living room table with a pad of paper in the background.

But she did strive for knitting accuracy, saying, “If you were a nerd like me, you’d recognize the characters from the film.”
