Artist Makes PEZ Heads That Honor Tupac, Biggie, Eazy-E

OAKLAND, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G. and Eazy-E have been immortalized in so many ways, but the sweetest gesture may be from an Oakland, California, man who’s made PEZ figurines of the late rappers.

Artist Michael Durham has made molds of the rappers’ faces and heads and attached them to the top of a PEZ base.

The “Fallen Rapper PEZ” series has been toured around the U.S. at various art shows and Durham has even asked the PEZ company for permission to manufacture them.

The candy company declined, saying their target audience is “3- to 6-year-olds” and the heads “would not fit into our criteria.”

Although he was rebuffed, Durham is still making a killing with the art pieces. He’s selling the PEZ heads for around $1,200 a piece.

The price tag seems hefty, but Durham only has a limited amount and he doesn’t plan on making more.

However, he says he’s “considering” making PEZ heads honoring recently deceased rappers Jam Master J and Old Dirty Bastard.
