Man Dreams Up ‘Toilet Buddies’ On The Pot

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some people get their best ideas sitting on the pot – and that’s exactly where a New York man thought up a potty training device called “Toilet Buddies.”

Creator Joseph Lalicata says after a bout with food poisoning that made him go to the bathroom 10 times a day, he got the idea to make the toilet less intimidating for kids through “Toilet Buddies.”

It’s a set of animal characters with names like “Poo P. Bunny,” “Gatago Giraffe,” “Puddles Puppy” and “Ca Ca Cow” that are attached to the potty via velcro fasteners.

After a successful run at The World Toilet Expo in Shanghai, China, Lalicata says the Toilet Buddies made a huge splash at The American Psychological Association Conference two months ago.

He says the Pentagon’s staff psychologist and the founder of the Shy Bladder and Bowel Institute loved his Buddies, and in Lalicata’s words, “Having very reputable people get excited over ‘Ca Ca Cow’ is a good thing.”

More importantly, Lalicata has observed the initial reaction of several preschool students and says when kids encounter the Toilet Buddies, “It’s the funniest reaction I’ve ever seen, like, ‘Alright, I get it now.’”
