Don’t Pity The Fool Who Loves Mr. T

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Twenty-six-year-old Greg Rivera loves dolls. But not just any dolls...Mr. T dolls, fool!

Rivera has been collecting stuffed fabric Mr. T dolls “handmade by moms and grandmas in the ‘80s” since he was 17, and he’s pretty sure his collection of 150 mini T’s is the largest in the world.

But it doesn’t stop there. Rivera found a B.A. Baracus buddy in a former rival eBay bidder named Mike Essl, and the two eventually combined and catalogued all their “T” memorabilia – hundreds of items ranging from Mr. T whistles and lanyards to air fresheners – on a website called

The guys – who both sport Mr. T tattoos – are looking to feature their collection in a book and also take the dolls on the road as a “Folk Art and Black Americana” exhibit.

Rivera explains, “Even if I wasn’t a crazy Mr. T collector, I’d want to show the dolls as art. They’re made so much out of love. At the same time, you’re like, ‘Oh man. It looks like a retarded Mr. Potatohead.’”
