Steve Carell Full Of Ideas For ‘The Office’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Maybe the success of The 40-Year-Old Virgin has boosted his confidence, because Steve Carell is speaking up about which direction his TV series The Office should go.

He says the “docu-comedy” – based on a British series set in a mundane paper office – could happen anywhere in the world, and he’s pushing for a “Kuala Lumpur” spin-off because he says, “That just seems the most logical.”

Meanwhile, he thinks he has the perfect idea to boost the American version’s ratings.

In his words, “I’m pitching this, but I don’t think they’ll do it. It’s a wet T-shirt contest during Sweeps Week.”

Carell knows he has come a long way from his bit role in 1991’s Curly Sue, saying, “I actually get to speak dialogue, and Jim Belushi is not in [The Office].”

In fact, Carell is the first one to tell you how successful he’s become in just the past few weeks. Now he jokingly shouts, “I’m IBM, baby!”

The Office has its season premiere on Tuesday (Sept. 20).
