Ant Man Selling Ant Names For A Price

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Not many people can say they have an ant species named after them, but that’s what one San Francisco-based entomologist is offering – for a price.

Dr. Brian Fisher has found 800 new ant species recently in Madagascar and he is selling off names for them to folks who will pony up $10,000 or more to donate to the building of a new bio diversity center on the African island.

The “Ant Man” says he’s even willing to name an ant genus – a group of ant species – after anyone who donates $25,000 or more.

Fisher’s got ants in his pants to raise the money as construction is currently $75,000 short of beginning and the loans he’s taken out to fund his research need to be repaid soon.

He figures it’s a great opportunity for those who want to “create a legacy that will last forever” especially because the name will be published in text books in years to come.
