Sumo Camps For Kids Popping Up Around U.S.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – American kids are getting fatter these days and it’s not only good for fast food companies, it’s good for Sumo wrestling.

The demand for the fat man sport by America’s youth has increased so much recently that Sumo wrestling camps are popping up around the U.S., including the SumoKids Sumo Wrestling Clinic, which is to take place Aug. 16 in Buffalo, New York.

The clinic will teach up to 100 aspiring diaper-wearing grapplers the basic disciplines of the sport as well as the culture behind it.

Although Sumo wrestling is associated with pudgy fat men, Sumo camp organizer Paul McAfee expects to see “every type of kid” at the clinic from small and scrawny to morbidly obese.

He admits the bigger kids will have an advantage though.

In his words, “Nine out of 10 times when there’s a big kid against a small kid in the ring, the big kid’s going to win.”
