Thats according to Miami-based balloon sculptress Irina Patterson, who blows and twists rubber caricatures of celebrities at birthday parties and other events.
She says Shaq and Paris are her two most-requested models, although they can be challenging. For instance, it takes 60 mocha brown balloons to twist a life-size Shaq and the hardest part is shaping each one of his sausage-sized fingers.
Meanwhile, it takes about 30 minutes and 30 pink balloons to make Paris, plus a few pencil-sized brown balloons to sculpt her constant companion, tiny Tinkerbell the dog.
The saddest part of the sculptures, Patterson says, is 10 days after theyre made they shrink into deflated lumps and die.
To lengthen their lifespans, the balloon lady recommends putting them in an air-conditioned room and dont twist, play or sit on them.
