L.A. movie producer Richard Halpern is so angry at how many taxpayer dollars and government man-hours were wasted searching for Wilbanks that hes organizing civil and class action lawsuits demanding she pay back every cent to local and federal agencies.
Halpern estimates the bill for Wilbanks wishy-washiness is at least $500,000 and that isnt counting pain and suffering for her fiance or the 14 bridesmaids who had to shell out money for their dresses.
He figures that any woman who can afford a 600-guest wedding probably has the resources to pay back the government.
Still, Halpern wants to make sure Wilbanks doesnt get rich by selling her story to a Hollywood producer or the rights to her future wedding to a TV show. He says any money she earns going that route should be earmarked for psychiatric counseling.
