Ghostly Presence Spooks British Soccer Team

NEWCASTLE, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A British soccer team’s goal of winning the country’s biggest tournament is getting spooked by a ghostly curse.

Until a few weeks ago, the Sunderland Football Club was on a roll to qualify for the Premiership, winning eight games in a row. That is, until one of the team’s top players, Marcus Stewart, saw what he believes is a ghost in a corridor near the team’s locker room.

Since then, the team has suffered serious injuries to its goalkeepers and midfielders and, worse, lost one game and tied another.

According to British ghost buster Dean Maynard, the ghost sighting has spooked the team so much that many players are convinced the team is cursed and have hired him to “nip it in the bud.”

Maynard is investigating the Sunderland team’s stadium today (Apr. 19) and using an electromagnetic frequency meter, a digital temperature gun and “...a healer on standby who can get rid of the ghost by sprinkling holy water on it.”

His main goal is dousing the fears of superstitious soccer players and if he does get rid of the curse, he plans to offer his services to the Chicago Cubs.
