According to a study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, calcium cuts the physical and emotional symptoms of PMS in half.
The study specifically found that women on high-calcium diets were less irritable, weepy, and depressed plus it helped prevent cramping, bloating and backaches.
The revelation has put those in the milk industry in a good moo-d.
Jeff Manning, a spokesman for the California Milk Processor Board, says he was just as surprised as others to hear about the beverages benefits for time-of-the-month sufferers.
He believes men will be just as happy about the news as women if not more.
Manning says any right-minded boyfriend or husband will take a trip to the supermarket and stock up on the lactose-saturated beverage in order to be helpful.
In his words, Milk and flowers will now be the best gifts to give women during their time.
