Change Mondays To MOMdays

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – This year, Mother’s Day is on May 8, but it could end up taking place every single Monday if the idea of a man in San Diego goes to seed.

Bill Strauss is starting a campaign to change the name of Monday to “MOMday,” in hopes of getting people to show appreciation to their moms at least 52 days each year instead of just one.

Strauss, who runs a floral website called, suggests Americans honor their moms every week by taking her out to dinner or by sending them flowers.

Either way, he figures that changing Monday to “MOMday” would take away the negative stigma people have towards the first day of the work week.

Strauss is personally petitioning President George W. Bush to make MOMday official and says he hasn’t met one person who is against the idea.

That doesn’t mean the name change is a slam dunk. Strauss admits he doesn’t know if sports fans will support MOMday Night Football and isn’t sure if song titles like “Manic Monday,” or “Rainy Days And Mondays” will change to reflect the times.
