Discount Dollar Store Creates Bridal Registry For Camilla

CITY OF COMMERCE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If money will be no object for Camilla Parker-Bowles once she marries England’s Prince Charles this Friday (Apr. 8), then why on earth would she want wedding gifts from a discount dollar store?

That’s the question raised by the “Bridal Registry for Camilla” created by a Los Angeles-based retail chain which sells nothing which costs more than 99 cents.

More than 400 people have offered to buy cheapo gifts for the future Queen Consort at the 99 Cent Only chain, including rhinestone tiaras, earplugs and reading glasses.

In addition, several wedding well-wishers have registered Camilla for brooms and one wants to give her tampons – a reference to the “Camillagate” phone tapes in which Charles told Camilla he’d like to take the place of one of her tampons.

Spokesman Albert Lee says the registry started out as a gag, but there have been so many responses since it launched March 29 that the company now plans to send the 99-cent gifts to Camilla.
