Hairstylist Puts Queen Latifah Through Beauty School Boot Camp

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – In war movies, the actors often go through army boot camp – but for the new movie Beauty Shop, actresses Queen Latifah and Alicia Silverstone were subjected to “Beauty Boot Camp.”

That’s what hairstylist Randy White is calling his month- long training session with the stars of the film, who had to learn how to clip like the pros before doing it onscreen.

White – who works at Melvina Scott’s Golden Touch salon in Inglewood, California – had the celebs spend two full days in intensive hair theory sessions where they practiced on mannequins.

Then came a month of dropping into the salon as guest snippers. Not surprisingly, the salon’s clients were excited, and White says none of the guinea pigs were nervous about having rookies chopping their locks, because White supervised every snip.

He says the best of his Hollywood pupils was former Cosby Show kid Keshia Knight Pulliam, who was familiar with the tools of the trade because her mother owned a salon.

White says he’d hire Pulliam in an instant if she was interested in cutting hair.
