Lucky Charms Leprechaun Plans To Tie One On During St. Patrick’s Day

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – How do you plan to spend St. Patrick’s Day? Well, the former voice of the Lucky Charms leprechaun plans to tie one on.

Actor Arthur Anderson – who did the voice of “Lucky” for 29 years – says he plans to celebrate St. Paddy’s by buying himself a green necktie to honor the character who did so much for his career.

Anderson depicted Lucky and spoke his signature line, “They’re magically delicious,” between 1963 and 1992 and says he enjoyed the character because, as he puts it, “He’s always an optimist, even when he tries magic that doesn’t work.”

Although fans often ask Anderson to sing the Lucky Charms jingle, he admits the requests increase around St. Patrick’s Day, and says it’s usually followed by the question, “Did you get free cereal?”

For the record, Anderson says there was no free cereal but “they gave me lots of green money.”
