Business Card Collector Is Real Card

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Steve Patterson of Knoxville, Tennessee, is a real card: His hobby is collecting business cards.

Patterson began collecting cards in 1996 as part of a graphic design class where he had to show good and bad business card designs.

Today, he has 52,800 various cards from around the world including ones from notable folks like Donald Trump, John Ashcroft, sausage magnate Jimmy Dean and the mayor of the North Pole.

He says he’s seen his share of bad and good business cards. In his words, “a lot look like crap.” But every now and then he says he sees some that look great.

His project is long over, but Patterson is always looking for more cards and hopes people will send some. His goal is to reach a million.

It won’t be a world record, and sadly, he says the judges at Guinness have retired the business card collecting record.
