CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Restaurant menus in the U.S. are getting a revealing makeover, and customers are eating it up.

The new healthcare bill will require all restaurants with 20 or more locations to include calorie counts for their items on menus, menu boards, and drive-thrus.

According to research from Mintel, 60 percent of restaurant- goers support adding the nutritional information to menus.

But while the labels will give consumers more control over their food choices, healthier new eats will still have to taste great.

When going out to dinner, nearly 60 percent of folks want something delicious, while 23 percent claim to want to eat a healthy meal.

In the past year, 50 percent of diners report eating in healthier restaurants and taking up new habits while ordering.

About 67 percent choose reduced-fat options from the menu, 52 percent eat more fruits and veggies, and 49 percent cut calories by simply requesting less food.
