GOLDEN, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Sometimes bodysurfing takes guts – a big ol’ sumo-sized gut, to be precise.

The “Sumo Tube” is an inflatable watersports towable that a rider slips into before hitting the waves. Once it’s on, they resemble a sumo wrestler because the device blows up to 33 inches in diameter.

Mike Pleiss, of sportstuff.com by Kwik Tech, manufacturers of the product, says that although the Sumo Tube is bulky, it moves fast.

He says Sumo Tube daredevils hitched to a boat can zoom across the water at 15-20 mph and steer themselves in whichever direction they please.

The extra cushion for the pushin’ gives riders some bounce on the water and even allows for stunts like jumps and barrel rolls, despite the added puffiness.

For even more fun, Pleiss suggests bodysurfers find a buddy to wear one too so they can simulate sumo matches both on the shore and while wading in the water.
