NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Your innermost thoughts and drawings can now be published and checked out at the library.

New York’s Art House Co-op is letting anyone and everyone share their ideas with the world with The Sketchbook Project, where people are sent a blank sketchbook to fill in however they see fit according to a theme they choose when ordering.

Participants then send back the sketchbooks, which are given a barcode and added to the Brooklyn Art Library, so visitors can check out the books.

Spokesperson Steven Peterman urges, “Instead of having your sketchbooks in the closet, send them here where they’re accessible to everyone.”

Peterman sees visitors spend hours reading the sketchbooks they already have shelved and is continuously amazed by the work that is produced in them.

Though the books are often very personal, Peterman says they aren’t “uncomfortable” to read. In fact, they’re “very powerful.”
