NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A good ol’ country boy is always slicker with the ladies than a city slicker.

Just ask Ty Brown, a southern gentleman from Nashville, Tennessee, who was booted from The Bachelorette this past Monday (Jul. 5).

Although Brown failed to make a love connection with Ali Fedotowsky, he credits his natural southern charm for keeping him in the running for this long.

Brown says he’s always been raised to treat ladies with chivalry and respect – even when he first started dating as a teen.

On his first date ever, he recalls his dad watching his every move in the driveway just to make sure he opened the car door for his date.

Says Brown: “If I hadn’t opened the door for that girl, my dad would’ve whipped me on the spot. He’s old school like that. It’s all about being courteous.”

The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC.
