NEWTON, Mass. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Despite that pesky volcanic ash cloud, many U.S. travelers plan to hit Europe in the coming months.

According to data from TripAdvisor.com, overseas travel looks solid in 2010, as 60 percent of U.S. travelers plan to visit Europe within the next 12 months, up from 50 percent last year.

Only six percent are concerned about the recent volcanic ash cloud affecting their trips, while 33 percent say the favorable exchange rates make European travel extra appealing this year.

Most Americans will pack their bags for Europe this fall, with 54 percent planning to visit this September or October.

Another 38 percent are crossing the Atlantic this month.

The most searched for destinations in Europe are London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid, while up-and-coming hotspots include Istanbul, Turkey, and Seville, Spain.

Meanwhile, it seems that tourists plan on blending in overseas – 76 percent will make an effort to speak the local language, while 58 percent will alter their outfits to appear less American.
