MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One agile 92-year- old man is jumping at the chance to run a little track and field.

Julian Myers has competed in 25 marathons and will continue his stride tomorrow (Jun. 5) by partaking in the California State Senior Games at CalTech in Pasadena, California.

Myers plans to enter nine events, including the javelin toss, long jump, and 3,000-meter run, for which he holds the record in his age range at 34 minutes.

The elderly athlete says he’s been training extra hard for the event by taking Pilates classes twice a week.

He’s been especially focused on getting his legs, ankles, and thighs in ship-shape so he can excel at the long jump.

Last time he tried it he landed at 5-feet, so his goal is to break his own record, although he doubts he’ll have much competition.

Myers participates in different senior sports throughout the year to promote “Amigo Day,” a friendship-appreciation holiday he created.
