Pencils Vs. Cameras: An Epic Battle
What's more artistic, the pencil-drawn picture or the photo in the background?
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 17:23 GMT
BRUSSELS, Belgium (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) What produces more creativity, a pencil or a camera?Artist Ben Heine has taken two formidable opponents in pencils and cameras and is putting them to a duel in his art series, Pencil Vs. Camera.
Hes placed hand-drawn sketches over photos he has taken so they complete the picture, often incorporating weird elements like dinosaurs and UFOs into the scene to see what each medium can add to the image.
This has resulted in a cute kitty having four eyes and a ferocious T. Rex holding guns stomping through the streets of Paris.
In seeing the two mediums duke it out in his work, Heine has concluded that pencils are the worthy victor over cameras because, It gives the creator an opportunity to use his imagination with no limits while the camera offers a pure reflection of the world we live in.
