Pop Culture Fanatic Causes Nostalgia Overload

Hillary Buckholtz does, and she’s helping others recall the totally rad toys, snacks, cartoons, TV shows, and other pop culture moments from the ’80s and ’90s on ImRemembering.com.

There, she posts photos of relics from the past and says the whole thing got started after continuously trying to give her brother “nostalgia meltdowns.”

Now she’s waxing nostalgic with strangers and thinks her blog does more than just bring up memories.

She explains, “It’s really about the shared experience and closeness. It makes me feel less alone in the world. You feel a sense of loss about growing up, but remembering makes me so happy.”

For Buckholtz, those years between age three and eight are really ripe with memories, since that’s when most people, in her words, “had nothing to do but eat cereal and play.”
