WESTMINSTER, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Englands poor performance in the 2010 World Cup could be deadly for truly devoted fans. With Englands team barely hanging on to their spot in the soccer tournament, its been widely reported that fans are sad, moody, and downright depressed.
Thus, Dale Emme of the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program, says England fans might need to be put on suicide watch.
He explains, The World Cup to them is like what hockey is to Canada. People get so involved. Some base their entire world around whether their team wins or loses and are very affected by it.
Emme says that a Brit whos already suffering from depression could be sent over the edge if England gets knocked out of the Cup in an embarrassing fashion.
To prevent soccer-related suicide attempts, Emme says seeking treatment straight away or talking to a friend can help save lives.
