Lightsaber Battle Erupts In NYC
Lightsabers will be drawn for battle in New York City later this month.

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Force will be strong – and in full swing – in New York City on May 29.That’s because New Mind Space is organizing an epic LED lightsaber battle that day at Christie Park in NYC.
The expected 1,000 participants must pick a side to fight for – Jedi or Sith – then “use that venerable, ancient, glowing tool – the lightsaber – in the ultimate nocturnal showdown.”
Attendees can reserve a lightsaber at newmindspace.com for $5, which they can take home after the battle to continue their Jedi training.
Organizer Kevin Bracken expects Star Wars geeks to be out in full force, donning costumes and defeating the world of evil Sith lords.
Since the event will be held guerilla style – with no city permits taken out that would make the battle legal – Bracken says fighters have to be stealth and ready to run should the cops come along.
They’re working to iron out any kinks that could result in fines or arrests.
