TOKYO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) It seems that Marilyn Monroe has been reincarnated in the form of a smooth Japanese jazz singer.Crooner Hiromi Kanda of Tokyo, Japan, specializes in singing American jazz standards in the vain of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole.
Shes loved American lounge music since she was a kid, and lives up to the genre by wearing glamorous dresses that look like theyre straight out of 1940s Hollywood, a la Marilyn Monroe.
Kanda says the gowns add to the old-timey feeling of her music.
Since theres not much of an audience for American standards in Tokyo, Kandas dream is to crossover as a jazz singer in America and bring back the classics.
Shes been working tirelessly on her English and has even released an album, Hiromi In Love, featuring her own versions of hits like My Funny Valentine and Unforgettable.
Additionally, shell be recording more ditties with Frank Sinatras original engineer this June.
