NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some people will do anything to get their hands on the new iPhone 4G – even sleep on the streets on New York City.

Greg Packer is a single, retired Highway Maintenance Department worker from New York who would – and has – gone to extremes to make sure he’s the first person to own whatever new product Apple is releasing.

Yesterday (Jun. 24) saw the release of the new iPhone 4G, and as usual, Packer made sure he got it first by waiting in line at his local Apple store for three days straight, since 8 AM this past Monday (Jun. 21), to be exact.

Packer says people try to beat him to the front of the line every time, but has never “seen anyone succeed.”

This time around he had help from a corporate sponsor, who gave him supplies like a sleeping bag and pillow and even fronted the money for the iPhone so long as he wore a banner promoting the company.
