Women Can't Shake Capri Pants

Year after year, high-water capris keep creeping back into style.

DALLAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Even if critics think capri pants come up short, the style will be around for a long time to come.

Cynthia Nellis, fashion expert for, says capri pants are making a huge comeback this summer – but it’s not like they ever left.

She says women haven’t given up on the cropped pants since they first appeared in the 1950s and each year they somehow creep back into style.

Nellis says a longer, ankle-length version of the capri is popular today, mainly serving to “show off fabulous shoes.”

She says most modern capris are very fashion-forward – except when women wear them with socks and sneakers for that “tourist mom look.”

Dressy crops can currently be spotted in fashion capitals across the globe, and Nellis wouldn’t be surprised if they hit Nashville, Tennessee, next.

After all, the high-waters could be both fashionable and functional in the midst of all the flooding.
