`Bacon Camp' May Create Vegetarians
One day at Bacon Camp in San Francisco could turn bacon lovers into vegetarians.

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – No one wants to know how sausage is made, and it’s no different with bacon.This Saturday (May 8), the smell of crackling bacon will fill the air in San Francisco at the 2nd Annual Bacon Camp, where all attendees are asked to bring a bacon dish, art piece, poem, or other ode to their favorite pork product.
Co-founder Karen Nguyen says the event is a “celebration and sharing of knowledge of bacon,” with bacon ice cream, marshmallows, and alcohol among other nibbles.
However, visitors might find themselves squealing in disgust during a pig butchering demonstration that will take place at the event.
Nguyen admits the seminar is “pretty intense” and might even cause a few people to turn vegetarian.
She says, “It’s not for everyone. Some people have never seen that, and it may turn them off bacon. But it’s important to know where our food comes from.”
