LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – No one can say that Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t hot when she first started out as a stand-up comic.

The talk show host is heading to Chicago on June 16 to film a variety show for TBS called Ellen’s Somewhat Special Special, premiering June 27 as part of the network’s A Very Funny Festival: Just For Laughs In Chicago.

Visiting the Windy City reminds Ellen of her sizzling days as rookie comic, when she had her very first stand-up gig on a Chicago stage alongside comediennes like Judy Tenuta and Rita Rudner.

Ellen says a stylist was doing her hair for the show and wound up tangling her locks in a hot curling iron, burning her scalp just minutes before her “big break” performance.

To this day, that’s her most memorable stand-up story.

This time around in Chicago, Ellen will stick to finding smokin’ hot talent for her TV special instead, including acrobats, musicians, and Kabuki dancers.
