LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Funnyman Craig Robinson may seem like the strong, silent type on The Office, but he certainly has a goofy side.

The actor, who plays apathetic Darryl Philbin on The Office, is the new host of Last Comic Standing, premiering its latest season this Monday (Jun. 7) on NBC.

Robinson is glad viewers will get to see his stand-up comedy style and the lighter side of his personality on the show since they rarely get to see that on The Office.

He explains, “I’m always being stoic playing the Darryl character, but over here I get to be playful as the host. The bits I get to do are really silly.”

As a comic himself, Robinson is happy to impart any advice to the latest batch of stand-up contenders.

He recalls his own foray into comedy after working as a teacher and musician, and is thankful for the moment when he finally “let the silliness take over.”
