Business people in fancy suits will be walking into the ocean -- clothes and all -- in Ocean City, New Jersey, this Friday (May 28) to celebrate the start of summer.
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 1:52 GMTOCEAN CITY, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) A bunch of suits will be making a splash in Ocean City, New Jersey, this Friday (May 28).
To celebrate the start of summer, the busy beach city will host its 7th Annual Business Persons Plunge, where employees from around town line up and march into the Atlantic Ocean while fully dressed in their work clothes.
Event organizer Mark Soifer, wholl take the plunge dressed as a construction worker, says even stuffy suits will get in on the action.
Century 21 is sending 20 local realtors to go for a dip sporting their fancy business suits and brief cases.
Hotel employees and merchants will also partake in the plunge, as well as those with less conventional jobs, including a local Elvis impersonator and a restaurant mascot dressed in a french fry costume.
Soifer says the plunge is a way for Ocean City businesses to welcome the tourism season, which hopefully brings in big bucks for the local economy.© Copyright 2010 Wireless Flash News Inc
