Philadelphia-based artist Mark Khaisman has a sticky situation on his hands due to Tapeworks, a series where he creates three-by-four-foot art pieces using nothing but packaging tape that he layers and then lights from behind to produce a glowing image.
Khaisman cuts the tape into random-sized strips so pieces often end up stuck to his shoes, clothes, and hair, which he doesnt always notice when he leaves his studio.
He says, If I go somewhere, its usually embarrassing. People end up pulling tape off of me.
Since he uses about 300 feet of packaging tape to make one masterpiece, theres rarely a time when Khaisman doesnt have tape twisted all over him.
He doesnt mind though, because its still a less smelly and messy medium than paint so he never has to change his clothes.© Copyright 2010 Wireless Flash News Inc
