NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) One artist has the human face pinned down.Eric Daigh is really pushing it with a series of portraits that he creates using only push pins.
He takes close-up photographs of friends faces and then re-creates them in large scale onto corkboard using only tacks.
Daigh decided to use the office supply as his medium of choice because, in his words, It didnt have any humanity or beauty or grace to it.
Hes used up to 25,000 push pins for a single piece, which he used to buy in packs of 500 from Staples.
Loved ones would also give him push pins for Christmas as a joke, but now they wont need to since hes ordered bins filled with 330,000 pins from China, all sorted out by color.
This will make life easier because in the past hes had to paint green push pins when he needs black or sort through hundreds to get to certain ones.
