LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Before breaking into showbiz, Eureka star Colin Ferguson had a kooky job as professional piece of eye candy.

Ferguson, who plays town savior Sheriff Jack Carter on TV’s Eureka, used to take any work offered to him in his mid-20s to make a quick buck, including a weird stint as a store mannequin in a window display.

Ferguson says he was spray-painted white and had to stand still for hours in nothing but a toga, listening to constant comments from “dirty old ladies” passing by.

He admits he was “miserable,” but much like his present-day TV character, was determined to do “whatever gets the job done.”

Besides the mannequin gig, Ferguson also worked odd jobs at a light bulb factory, planting trees, and even as a DJ, although, in his words, “I had absolutely no business doing that!”

Eureka returns for its fourth season tomorrow (Jul. 9) on SyFy.
