Survive Morning After Cinco De Mayo
Menudo the band and menudo the Mexican dish: Which one is the ultimate Cinco De Mayo (May 5) hangover cure?
Monday, May 3, 2010 17:29 GMTMEMPHIS, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Our neighbors south of the border gave us Cinco de Mayo (May 5) and also its cure.
The Mexican holiday that many have adopted as a day to get completely trashed can leave partiers with a seriously wicked hangover.
Thankfully, Mexico also has the cure to ease the Tequila pain.
Rollin Riggs, publisher of The Hangover Handbook: 101 Cures For Humanities Oldest Malady (Mustang Publishing), recommends drunkards feast on a big bowl of menudo the day after, a tomato- based stew that contains stomach lining from a cow, a classic cure in Mexico.
The tomatoes in the stew are packed with the enzymes and minerals that tequila shots and margaritas deplete from the system, so sipping the soup helps recharge those batteries.
However, Riggs says listening to the boy band Menudo could exacerbate your nausea.
Meanwhile, feasting on spicy salsa also eases a hangover.
