HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) College is expensive, but there are plenty of wacky ways to get that tuition money.According to Kevin Ladd of scholarships.com, college aid isnt just available to academics and athletes, other students can get funding too if they apply for the stranger scholarships.
For example, Loyola Marymount University offers the Zolp Scholarship to anyone who has the last name Zolp.
Bucknell University in Pennsylvania has a special scholarship for straight-laced students who dont drink and smoke.
Then theres the Kor Memorial Scholarship thats awarded to students with an interest in unique languages, including Klingon, and the Tall Clubs International Scholarship thats given to students who are simply tall.
Other grants are available to those who major in offbeat subjects like mycology, the study of fungus.
Ladd says there are usually less applicants for the weirder scholarships, but students should still apply to several at once to collect the most funding possible.
