SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A heaven-sent service in Santa Monica, California, is helping drivers curb pesky parking tickets.

“The Ticket Angels” is a notification service that lets people know when their car is at risk of receiving a street sweeping citation.

Founders Matt Parker and Christopher Harati patrol local streets on bikes and Vespas looking for ticket-happy traffic officers.

If they think someone’s car might get ticketed, they text, call, or knock on that person’s door and remind them to move their vehicle.

As of right now, Parker says they’ve helped about 100 clients save nearly $13,000 on tickets with their roadside assistance. A yearly subscription to protect two vehicles only costs $60 – less than one $61 street sweeping violation.

Though they scour three zip codes already, they’re looking to hire more “angels” so they can eventually keep watch all over Southern California.

And while parking enforcement doesn’t exactly love them, Parker says meter maids haven’t tried to run them off the road either.
