NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Nerds have a plethora of knowledge to share, and it’s fun to listen to it while drunk.

Nerd Nite is a series of stage performances at bars in different cities where dweebs create a 20-minute presentation on their favorite subjects like science, technology, video games, and history.

The event started after a friend of co-creator Matt Wasowski’s kept sharing the research he found while studying birds in Cameroon at their local watering hole.

The bartenders got so annoyed, they told him to make one single presentation for the bar so they’d never have to hear about it again.

Thus, at the show, Wasowski says a steady stream of alcohol keeps presentations from getting boring.

Alternative methods of presenting – like using raps and silly slideshows – also keeps things interesting, as well as encouraged heckling from the audience.

Wasowski thinks classrooms would be far more entertaining and successful if teachers made lessons as fun as Nerd Nite.
