LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Iced tea turns 106 today (June 1), but the refreshing beverage isn’t just for drinking.

According to tea expert Diana Rosen, author of Meditations With Tea (Citadel), iced tea has tons of weird uses.

For instance, Rosen says it can be used to temporarily treat minor sunburns. You saturate a rag with iced tea, ring it out, and blot the burned skin to cool it down until you can get aloe vera on it.

Iced tea is also a natural deodorizer. Rosen says it can be poured into a foot bath and used by those suffering from “stinky toe syndrome.”

Additionally, tea can be used a disinfectant to wipe down a sweaty yoga mat or to make something look antique.

Because tea stains, Rosen says it’s an old Hollywood trick to soak fabrics or clothes in it to make the garments look old.

Rosen says unflavored, unscented, plain black tea works best in these weird ways.
