CLEVELAND (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Forget sports memorabilia, geeks are now the hot collectible.

Anyone who worships a dorky hero can keep them close or trade them with other nerds through Len Peralta’s Geek A Week series of geek trading cards.

The artist has challenged himself to draw a deck of 52 cards in 52 weeks featuring influential nerds who’ve made an impact on the world.

The cards will include stats for each geek, including their “special ability,” “secret weapon,” and what makes them so worthy of being collected.

Among the trading card nerds are director and comic book enthusiast Kevin Smith and artist Nathan Sawaya, who makes huge masterpieces out of LEGO blocks.

Peralta has made his mission even tougher by only drawing the dweebs he’s actually able to talk to via phone or email.

He dreams of getting uber geeks like Steve Jobs, George Lucas, and Stan Lee to chat with him, and would make their trading cards truly rare collector’s items.
