MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Next time you drop a deuce, you should log a description of your log.

Josh Richman is the co-author of Poo Log: A Record Keeper (Chronicle Books), a journal for recording and learning about your bowel movements.

Richman says it’s important to keep a running tally of your pooping patterns, including how often you poo and its quality.

He says the varying size, texture, smell, and color of your poo says a lot about your health.

For example, a “big, solid” turd means your digestive system is working well, while a “pebble poo” may mean you need more water and fiber in your diet.

Like a snowflake, Richman says “no one poo is identical to another,” and there’s no such thing as the perfect poo.

Everyone should, however, strive for “poo-phoria,” that blissful feeling that comes from dropping one good “monster poo.”

Richman says poop unifies the world since everybody everywhere does it.
