EMMAUS, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Jersey Shore cast may be more popular than ever, but the frenzy over their famous prop, the Duck Phone, has passed.

Although demand for the 1970s quacking telephone soared after it was featured in the first season of Jersey Shore, novelty phone dealer Bob Vaughan says the craze has “come and gone.”

Vaughan, who sold the now-discontinued Duck Phone on noveltytelephone.com from 1999 through 2004, says he was flooded with requests for “The Quacker” earlier this year, but now the calls have stopped coming.

He figures it’s an indication that the Duck Phone fad is officially over, although Jersey Shore and Snooki did give it a notable resurrection.

Reportedly, the Duck Phone is nowhere to be found on MTV’s second season of Jersey Shore premiering July 29, and Vaughan thinks its absence will be the final nail in coffin for the short-lived trend.

He says the novelty Hamburger Phone from the movie Juno suffered a similar fate, rising quickly and then fading back into oblivion.
