NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Parents always have the weirdest
crap stashed away at their houses.
Thats what Brooklyn-based comedian Joel Dovev realized
one day when he was visiting his mom and dad and noticed their
mantle covered in Jewish knick-knacks with a random model pirate
ship at the center.
Dovev wondered if his parents were secretly Jewish
pirates and from there, he created
crapatmyparentshouse.com, a blog featuring the strangest stuff
people find at their parents digs.
So far, the most bizarre submissions include a slightly
racist lawn ornament, a stuffed raccoon, an owl sculpture
made entirely out of seashells, and odd religious items hanging
on walls.
Dovev says his favorite crap is the kitsch displayed in common
areas like the living room, although parents often keep their
weirdest gems buried in the garage or basement.
He figures parents collect tasteless stuff because they
dont like throwing anything away that may have even an
ounce of sentimental value.
